Vallejo is on the map! We are getting known as a destination for touring bands. The Hub has scored a coup & we are pre-empting our regular Bad Movie Night, because we got the amazing Sweet Soubrette to play The Up Bay on their way through the bay area, along with The Sweet Trade, and Vallejo's own brilliant Kelly McCubbin aka Uke Apocalypse! The second show in Sweet Soubrette's 2-day SF Bay Area mini-tour will involve ukuleles, dark and witty songs, and a circus-inspired sensibility, just outside the East Bay. First Friday Local Musicians' Showcase Presents: Rumble Mother & Throw Me Down a Well

Friday, August 1, 2014 - 7:00 pm
Come on down to The Hub for another great night of local music. We have a double bill: Rumble Mother & Throw Me Down a Well. Throw Me Down a Well is an American progressive rock band. They've been described as visceral and psychedelic - Pink Floyd meets The Sex Pistols. Spiralling downward, deeper into the unknown recesses of the well... A headfirst plunge into blackness; fleeting thoughts and shadows dancing at the edge of a dreamlike state between reality and the infinite space beyond. Rumble Mother was conceived in a record store, birthed in a garage, and raised in a civil union by two music nerds, Rumble Mother is, to put it quite simply, a pretty cool rock band. It's basic, raw, abrasively loud stuff, the kind of music that makes your parents scratch their heads and wonder where they went wrong when raising you. The duo aren't trying to make you dance- they want you to start a riot or spray paint a cop car or knock your boss's teeth out. Or at least mosh at their shows. FREE - As usual for this event, but be sure to tip the bands, buy their CD's & schwag, and visit the cafe - Resistance Coffee - featuring Moschetti's coffee, roated right here in Vallejo.

The Beast With Three Backs presents 'HELL TO PAY' An Original Adaptation of Shel Silverstein's THE DEVIL AND BILLY MARKHAM, at The Hub during the Second Friday Vallejo Art Walk.

Friday, August 8, 2014 - 8:00 pm
Ready for more brilliant theater at The Hub? The Beast With Three Backs is comprised of students from Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre in Blue Lake, California. The company was formed in 2013, and their adaptation of The Devil and Billy Markham marks their first foray into the world of touring a production. FREE - But please tip the actors!
